The Council Rock Education Foundation (CREF) awarded their Outstanding Community Partner Awards to Mr. Dave Callahan, owner of The Newtown Hardware House and Mr. Rick Leonetti, founder of Athletes Helping Athletes (http://www.athleteshelpingathletesinc.com/) on May 31, 2012, at a breakfast at the Chancellor Center. This award recognizes community members who stand out through their dedication, generosity and commitment to both Council Rock and our community. The Education Foundation is a non-profit organization separate from the school district that funds innovative programs that enhance learning that fall outside of the district’s budget. Its success relies solely on donations and monies raised through fundraising and promotional activities.
