You have found the link to our 2002-2003 Blue Ribbon Application. Please take some time to read the complete application. It gives you an overview of Wrightstown Elementary School ’s philosophy, programs, researched-based practices utilized and terrific Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) results.
Wrightstown Elementary School was nominated for a National Blue Ribbon for the 2002-2003 school year by the Pennsylvania State Department of Education. Criteria for this nomination include our ability to maintain consistently high standards and recognition that our 5 th grade PSSA test scores fall within the top 10% of all State public and/or private schools. Only seven Pennsylvania public elementary schools were nominated based on these criteria. We are very proud of our score results, however it is important that we look beyond test scores and recognize the wonderful learning and that takes place on a daily basis in our school.
The application was written by a team of Wrightstown teachers who spent hours trying to complete an application that truly reflected our school. Given the many specifications of the U.S. Department of Education, this was no easy task. We feel we have captured the best of Wrightstown. All applications were due to the U.S. Department of Education by February 11, 2004 and will be reviewed through the spring and summer. National Blue Ribbon Award winners will be announced in the fall of 2004. We are confident we will achieve the award adding to our previous recognition as a 1998-1999 National Blue Ribbon Award winner.
Thank you to so many that have contributed to this great school and community!!
