Wrightstown Elementary School

Our School

Dear Visitors,

Welcome to the Wrightstown Elementary School website.

Wrightstown Elementary School is located in the rolling hills of Bucks County in a somewhat rural setting; and yet, we are within an hour’s driving distance to Philadelphia.  Our boundaries include the historic beginning of the Walking Purchase, the famous 1737 treaty developed between the sons of William Penn and the Lenape Indians for the land in this area.  We also take pride in a one-room school house built in 1802 which still stands today.  While we respect and value our past, we are ever mindful of our need to help our children prepare for a future of change.

In 1998, we earned the distinct honor of being recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School.  Amazingly, we were awarded the No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School Award once again in 2004.  This recognition confirms our efforts to provide an active, child-centered program in a positive school environment.

Our school is committed to creating a shared culture of respect and responsibility where children feel confident in themselves and in taking educational risks within the classroom.  The staff continues to meet the needs of students through differentiated instruction, studying best practices within education, and by setting long and short term goals for the school as well as our students.  Together with parents, we will remain dedicated to teaching students the importance of respect, responsibility and making good choices in and outside of school.   We incorporate character education into our daily school day by modeling appropriate behavior, providing opportunities for classroom meetings, and through ongoing discussions that focus on the importance of good character.

I welcome you to explore our website to discover what makes Wrightstown Elementary School such a wonderful place for students to grow and learn each and every day. We are proud of the many accomplishments that we have had and look forward to embracing new challenges in the future.  I hope you enjoy your visit to our website!

Sincerely,

Susan Gormley
