Welcome to the Title I Program
at Rolling Hills Elementary School!
Title I is back at Rolling Hills again for the 2012-2013 school year. This government funded program provides supplemental reading assistance to children in first and second grades and kindergarten. Children remain in Title I for the entire school year and are invited to attend a free academic camp in the summer.
At Rolling Hills, children are recommended for Title I by their classroom teacher and Carole Holden, Rolling Hills' literacy specialist.
The Rolling Hills Title I Program is currently serving a total of 24 students with two part-time staff. Each student meets with their assigned Title I staff person for three 30 minute sessions per week. Some of the sessions are individual and some are group lessons. The lessons teach students to use strategies they need to become fluent and independent readers.
