Dear Students and Parents,
This year will be an exciting year for all of us as we continue our journey as Newtown Middle School. We have always been committed to high academic standards and success for all students. It is our belief that middle school education will enhance the opportunities for all students to succeed. We pride ourselves in the wide variety of educational, social, and co-curricular activities that are available to our students. If we work together in this new experience, we believe that our educational success will continue and that we will preserve the fine reputation to which we have become accustomed.
In order to maintain an environment that is conducive to learning, we must have the cooperation of all students within the school and must concentrate our efforts on academic achievement. To that end, we have provided this handbook/planner which outlines the standards and expectations of our school and provides a means by which daily student assignments can be recorded.
We ask that all students and parents familiarize themselves with the information contained in this front section of this handbook. Hopefully, it will become apparent that we intend to provide a safe and orderly setting in which students can realize their maximum academic potential. In addition, students are encouraged to take full advantage of the co-curricular opportunities at Newtown Middle School.
