Dear Parents, Students and Staff, 8/29/11 School nurses are again accepting donations of prescription eye glasses and presctiption sunglasses, particularly in children's sizes. This year we are donating the glasses to VOSH- Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. A local eye doctor, Dr. Christine Smith, and a retied teacher from Council Rock, Larry Hauler, both belong to this organization, and assure us that donated glasses will go to needy children and families in under-developed countries. VOSH sends a staff of volunteer eye doctors, and donated eyeglasses to a different country in need, each year.
There is now a donation basket on the counter in the main office, here at school, and a basket in the Health Office, as well. If you have a pair of gently used prescription glasses, in good repair, we would be grateful for your donaiton. Prescription sun glasses and magnified reading glasses, are also welcome. Thanks for your support of this worthy project. Most Sincerely, Mrs. Daniels |
