Caterpillar Mosaic
 
During the 2009-2010 school year Kindergartners and first graders created tiles for a
large-scale mosaic based on the wonderful story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle. Artist in Residence Terri Herring introduced the project to the children, who then created the tiles during art class. Terri facilitated the installation, working for two days with a group of dedicated volunteers. The mosaic is installed in the primary wing, where it is admired by students, parents and teachers alike. The project is a celebration of working together and of the joyful learning that takes place at
Wrightstown Elementary School.
