The Sloan School

The Sloan School

Theodore A. Sloan School is in its 17th year of operation, just beginning its sixth year at the LSAT Building 661 Penn St. Newtown, PA. location.  The students who attend have been given an opportunity to continue their education in an environment that is an alternative to the traditional large high school setting.  We offer an intimate, supporting, and highly structured approach where the students are held accountable for their behavior.

Students are treated respectfully with the critical focus on preserving dignity and maintaining an emotionally safe space.  Teachers employ motivational techniques to encourage positive decision-making and, with a team approach, help guide students toward a successful path.

Students who attend Sloan School may return to the high school after they have demonstrated a mastery of coping strategies, which empowers them to overcome their issues and achieve success.  We have had several students go  to college.  Past students include journalism major at a community college with several articles published in a local paper.  Another student received four college scholarships to pursue her interest and talent in art.  Many of our graduates have joined the Armed Services and have completed tours of duties in Iraq and Iran.

Sloan’s small, home-like environment addresses the emotional as well as academic needs of our students.  Our goal is to encourage the development of healthy, fully functioning, self-actualized human beings who can become productive members of the world community.
